Is Your Light Still On?

One blind man visited a friend. When night came, he decided to return home. His friend insisted he carry a lantern so others could see him in the dark. The blind man argued, "I cannot see with a lantern; my walking stick is enough." But the friend insisted so no one would collide with him. The blind man agreed and carried the lantern. On his way home, someone bumped into him. Annoyed, he shouted, "Are you blind? Can't you see the lantern I'm carrying?" The man replied, "I am sorry. The wind blew out your lantern. It is no longer shining." Many believers today walk around with lanterns that are no longer lit. We carry the appearance of faith without its light. We must cry out like the blind man of Jericho (Luke 18:35–43): "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" If he had listened to the people telling him to keep quiet, he would have missed his moment—because Jesus never returned to Jericho again.
